thank you, it does look very throwy! actually it kinda reminds me of the HoundDog with the higher filter, a very wide but throwy beam

It's like a lower power HD super actually. It throws a ton but with a huge hotspot. That's 100 feet to that white marker on the ground.

I am looking to swap the heads for the larger Malkoff offerings.

As I see it, I have 4 options for warmer tints and 21700 body.

Wildcat 18650
Wildcat XP-L
Hounddog XP-L
Super Hounddog

The only option above with more lumens than the M91 is the Super Hounddog.
The other options just shape the beam differently, which can be more beneficial.

I'd grab the Wildcat 18650 and remove the filter.perfect for you.I posted some beamshots of this setup on here.with the filter on 100 feet is about max with the wildcat. Without it you get about 100 yards.

How would you compare the Wildcat 18650 head with the filter removed to the Hound Dog 18650 head? I'm considering either, and your feedback would be much appreciated.

With no filters on the hound dog 18650 will throw much further but will have a very tight beam. The wildcat with no filter will have a hotspot much bigger but with 1/4 less throw. ill See if I can grab a comparison shot.

Thanks for pics above of no filter wildcat. Wildcat does look like the way to go.

With that, would you suggest going with the 18650 head on the 21700 Pak or under drive the XP-L wildcat on the 21700?

I ask because on my ceiling bounce test, the M91BN on 1 cell gave more light than the M61N on 2 cells. I am wondering if the Wildcat 18650 vs XP-L could be a similar scenario.

Possibly, my hound dog super has less light on one battery, regulation suffers a bit, but it's still very good.

I would use the XP-L.This gives you the option of running it on one cell "slightly lower output"and on multiple cells for full regulated output.

I didn't see a thread on the M61 HOT, so I thought I would ask here. I have an older HOT. I think they were around 500 lumens or so. The newer version is 740. Does anyone have both and is there a noticeable performance difference? Also, are the runtimes the same?
