There have been a number of posts questioning MahaEnergy's decision to ramp up the brightness of the Powerex MH-C9000's display, especially considering that the original display was already considered abnormally bright:

Well, after much pondering, mostly whilst imbibing my favorite single-malt, I've decided it was done to help those poor souls in the more northern latitudes with their Seasonal Affective Disorder:

Now, I don't have a meter, but presuming the display is at least 10,000 lux, you only need to watch it for 1/2 hour from a distance of 1 to 2 feet every 24 hours to enjoy its full effect and, coincidentally, cut way back on your Prozac:

Incidentally, the LaCrosse BC-9009 can also provide an effective treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder, just be sure to engage in your treatment from across the street so as not to interfere with the firefighters.

Disclaimer: You are strongly advised to consult with your physician before engaging in this or any other self-therapy.

Humm. I'd be concerned that this might affect the effectiveness of the treatment for Seasonal Affective Disorder, provided that it had any effect, and if so, whether it affected the treatment itself, effectively or not.

Just a thought.

Give the LaCrosse as a present to someone you don't like. Then stand across the road from their house and watch the firefighters struggle to prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring houses. Chestnuts optional. That'll cure SAD.
