Hello Flashaholics.....

Newbie here.

bngbuck

First off, you are new so :welcome:

With that being said (before a mod sees the post), I would post this as a separate topic... otherwise you ruin the original poster's thread. After you open a new thread, just edit your post here so we don't get off topic :twothumbs

On Topic: wow... 140 watts of halogen power. If I could justify such a light, I would definitely purchase one :D Glad you enjoy it and be careful... 17 pounds is no lightweight :grin2:

Welcome Bngbuck! :welcome: But ya betta not hijack my MOAF thread!:twak:

D-Dog, the justification is simply the lust for more LIGHT and THROWING POWER! Since I got the MOAF, I go into the garage every night to check on her. I would sleep with her but my chihuahua won't hear of it!

DaFab, I don't know how you would gain anything by modding this monsta!

Is there a hotter bulb for this kind of light? The Goodwill manager told me that Radio Shack can get the replacement bulbs. I would imagine they would be cheaper from the parent company. Anyway there is a spare bulb under the battery compartment door.:twothumbs

could we see a pic of the bulb? from the pics you have posted it could be a standard auto bulb, H1? for example...

if that is the case then a) your local auto factor will probably have a good price and b) there are plenty of specialist extra bright bulbs to try before you go HID.

re the specialist bulbs, i.e. 100w ice white etc... YMMV.

Thanks for the link Capt! Here is a shot of bulb. It's a dual filament.

Do you mean "a phone call one night"? I guess it is just muscle memory :).

LOL! Didn't even notice that. Must really be muscle memory!! I'm going to leave it as is, so 5 years from now someone else can get a laugh as they go through the old files. Thanks for poking fun at me.

you got that for $8 !!! dang, sweetness!!

I frequent my local goodwill stores all the time... you never know what you might find. I wonder if its commonplace for them to stash way the really nice merchandise.

Nice and thanks for sharing:)

Yup, usually the people who work the dropoff and pricing station will stash anything interesting and buy all the really good stuff before it goes on the shelf. I had to do community service at goodwill for driving 30+ over the posted speed limit and over 80mph. The new law here in hawaii.
