Is this light still available on Kai's site? I like that the button is better that the Eastward YJ as stated in your review.

Yup, they are available from both kaidomain and dealextreme.

Just something to take note tho, the first faulty one which i recieved on kaidomain had different prints on the body. It had "Super 8 Watt" on it while this replacement has almost completely similar prints as an original SureFire U2 Ultra...
Right down to the www.surefire.com on the tailcap

x2x3x2: Thanks for the excellent review (and other reviews too)--very helpful. I ordered a U2 style clone from DX which arrived a few days ago. Fortunately for me, the led was pretty much centered in the reflector. The construction is very solid(a heavy feel actually--certainly compared to the l2d-ce) and I like the light quite a bit. it has great throw and a very nice beam. Mine is the Eastward YJ, as expected. The only complaint I have, and it is a minor one, is that the clickie is quite stiff and required a fair bit of force to push. It's easier to hold the light with one hand and push with the other. I gather you are saying that the new version has an easier clickie for pushing (too bad since I'm certainly not purchasing another).

I haven't been able to get the head off because it is in so tight. I guess I should apply some force, with a cloth so as to not mar the surface, right?

The head does not come off, only the top ring does.
While you have it open, put in some thermal paste.
With this simple mod, it is a great light.

Sorry Minjin, i gave my other U2 clones away already so i cant take side by side pics of them..

yeah dude, its like totally similar. on the body it says SureFire and Digital U2

that the problem with kaidomain, some of the products do not appear in their respective categories, in this case Cree lights.

U have to look thru the "new item" dates or just use their search box.

nah mate, I'm still having trouble tracking it down... what do you eter in the search bar ro what date in "New Arrivals" is it located.

P.S Thans for the Ultrafire C5 review, looking for a light for my little brother and can't pick betwen the two. He'd love to have a surefre like my l2. However he stares wonderously at an led maglite, so the c5 or u2 clone would still blow him away!

I think both of these have the thinner tube.
The EastwardYJ U2-style is thicker and believe a tad brighter.

Yup, those links quoted by beefy are correct.

I realise the images in the product description on Kai's site have different prints on the body, but that's the one I ordered.

Hmm.. im not sure how that works out. Well the flashlight should be exactly the same accept for the prints.

That is the one i ordered, has the word Cree on it. But there fault some mechanical fault. So i returned it and this is the one i got for replacement.

Got my second version U2-Clone from KaiDomain today . . .

(ordered 25th April- arrived 5th May)

First Impressions
Quite different to the EastwardYJ version !

. .

V2 Slightly Longer
Slightly deeper Knurl
Lot lighter 150g:205g loaded AW18670 (Quite like the heavy feel of the EastwardYJ)
Much easier to press Tail-Switch
But - No Tail Standing
And - No Lanyard hole

Both seem bright and white on their own
but side by side . . .

Parees(V2) - Slightly Greener - Subjectively Slightly less power - Smaller spot (just) ? better throw ?
EastwardYJ - Slightly Pinker - Lower LOW setting - Bigger flood area (larger head)

No Donut beyond 2 foot use . . .

The LED in the original heavy(nice) and difficult to click(not nice) "U2" is brighter and better(?) colour. I have moved it into the "Parees" version now and it's great.

They seem to have dropped all the "Surefire" markings !

If you only want a single power level the C2 is great and takes 2x123size or 1x18670size - I'm now waiting to get an HAIII-C2 . . . love 'em.

Surefire should clone the chinese model so they can get ride of the donut .
