Bimmerboy
Flashlight Enthusiast
Hehe... made this a few days ago, and I'm still chuckling about it.
About a year or so ago, fellow flashaholic PCC very generously sent me a couple Mini-mag switches for free to fix a couple flashlights for a neighbor. Upon further examination, those Mini-mags were so messed up to the point of being unfixable, the switches never got used.
Roughly around this time, a different project for a friend never came to be. I was going to upgrade his crappy music stand light with a driver, and better LED's, so I got a Wquiles Joule Thief with a custom inductor to run two 5mm's in parallel from one battery. So, now I've got this cool, one of a kind driver with nothing to do.
Meanwhile, I wanted to thank PCC for his generosity by making a light in tribute to him, so I asked him to send a picture of himself so I could stick LED's in his eyes, and make a thread here about it. Of course, he politely declined.... hahaha. Such a thing might seem weird to some, but it pales in comparison to some non-light related things I've made in the past, so for me, this was a totally normal request. I actually find it funnier that he turned the offer down than if he accepted. Musta' been like... "who's this weirdo that wants my picture?"... lol.
Well, this was not to end there, so I waited for inspiriation to strike, and...
Behold my latest creation... The PCC. Photonic Canine Corneas!
For one zillion dollars, the question is... WHO LIT THE DOGS UP?! WHOOF!... WHOOF!... WHOOF WHOOF WHOOF!!
Just have to neaten things up, and make it all more secure. Also going to replace the AA holder with magnet leads so it can use any size alky.
I was going to use the Mini-mag switches back here so I could easily swap LED's, but haven't yet thought of an elegant way to attach and remove them from the frame. It'd be amusing to quickly pop in different colors, like one green, one red... lol.
Hey, PCC... this oughta' make you think twice next time you give someone free stuff!
