The power of Titanium

Energizer E2 is built with a heart of titanium. This unique compound unlocks the power by making the cathode more conductive and allowing electrons to flow more freely. This means improved performance and longer life.

The cell construction also packs more power into each cell. We have utilized the internal space and enhanced the ingredients that translate into more performace in all your battery operated devices.

Well, here`s their explanation of why it`s better...but is it brighter and does it really last longer...if so does it justify the extra cost?

Yeah, I can't wait to see the Titanium and Ultra go head to head in an Arc. I'm anxious to see which one (if either) actually lives up to all the hype.

Yep, I`m hoping Brock and Craig might be a little interested too...hint, hint

FWIW (AA batts)
"batteryguy" here sez Dura "Ultra" better by a just a tad..
In high drain use, they lasted 2hrs-40min.(in Casio pocket color TV-640ma.draw)
Bunny e2 lasted 2hrs-20min....

That one only gets you between 1 & 2 chuckle rating.

Bunny e2 lasted....

But I thought it was the Duracell Bunny, not Energizer? Or is it different over here? Or am I mistaken (the most likely option).

On this side of the pond it's the copper-top against the Ev.bunny (with his tiny drum)

So, is there going to be a showdown. I want both contestants to come out with their Arc`s blazing.

I say we put them to the test live via streaming video. We can keep one window open on our desktop and watch in real-time who will be the winner...

Anyone got a web-cam?

I don't know about you, but I think it'll be about 3 wks. B/4
I'm able to hold that Arclight

It looks like it will be even longer for the Photon III. Bryan, the moderator of the Photon board indicated there is a problem which could delay their release.

Ken,
I still wonder if LRI (and us)
wouldn't have been better off if
the xtra $ for the microprcessor
was spent instead on just making the case on the Photon thick enough to hold
2 CR 2032 cells..hmmm

I haven't even seen e2's yet here in downtown Seattle. I'll check Freddy's on the hill tomorrow, since I need to head that way to get a new filter pump for my fishtank anyway. I'll pick up some Duracell Ultras there while I'm at it.
Then retest the Arc with them.

Great Craig, now if we can get Brock to pick up some bunnie`s.....
grin.gif
...The show starts tomorrow...have your popcorn ready guys
smile.gif

KenB: Hehe. We should sell tickets to the main event tomorrow. This is a lot more fun than anything they are doing on Pay-Per-View these days. I can see it now. "In this corner we have the copper topped wonder, and in this corner, the contender, the bunny that just won't stop." LOL.

Well, we still have to hear from Brock, last I heard he was going to make a light meter.

Well, all humor aside...

The specs for the E2 vs the plain old Energizer show them to both have the same capacity. Granted, the E2 can put out more current per time, but the overall mAh rating is the same.

I can't find the data, but I've read posts on another board that the Ultra's are the same cap as the regular Duracells.

Caveat emptor

Well, hmm...if thats the case then there should be no differance in run time...right? If you can find the data maybe we should not ask Craig/Brock to spend money needlessly.

Something seems wrong with those figures or else the big battery companies are full of lies to get more money because I've read on the back of a pack of Titaniums about how they brag that you can get SO many more pictures with a digital camera with a Titanium vs. a regular Energizer. Hmmm... I think it might still be interesting to see a test. At least if the Titanium and Ultra flop out, then we will never have to worry about blowing $$ on them again. It might save a lot of people a lot of money if they are buying expensive batteries for the Arc and other LED flashlights needlessly.
