This diffuser is cheap, currently widely available and provides a VERY smooth beam, probably even on M@Gs.

I was walking the dog, my new 6PL in hand, and while white 'snow' wall hunting, I slipped. Fell on my left side (only lightly bruised), 6PL still tighly in my hand. I looked at it and had one of those 'ah-ha' moments.

The bezel was totally packed in with snow. As a diffuser, snow works wonders! No damage to the light, I landed in ankle deep snow.

Plus it keeps your light cool while running high power LEDs. On the other hand, it melts from said heat.

What do you mean readily availible though? We haven't seen snow here in months! :shakehead

We get snow every 5 or 6 years...

I have a strange feeling that diffuser material only works on high-quality lights.

You peaked my interest, and I had to go out to scoop some snow and try it out. IT WORKS GREAT! The beam is as smooth and diffused as a bare LED!

Small Problem with that Snow thing down here in Australia,

I've tried sand/soil and it doesn't quite have the same effect

That would be one Hell of a funny explanation.

"The powder is for my flashlight, Officer."

And the officer's response, "I see, that must really work well because there's really no way that little light could be brighter than my mighty Mag."

I think we could make a comedy routine out of this. :grin2:

Haha you bet
Cop procedes to pull out a baggie and dips in the light and turns it on. "Hmm doesn't seem to work. Hate to let this stuff go to waste..." little bit later "Oh yeah now it works. I don't think it's supposed to go on the light."

I just went and got one of these diffusers for one of my light. The particular one I used for my Jetbeam made my beam yellow and my light warm. Is this normal?
