I found myself in an elevator today that had a single overhead lamp that had burned out (and I didn't have my flashlight on me at the moment). When the door closed it got really dark inside!
Anyway after further investigation I found that there was a light switch on the panel (yes, it was on). What I can't figure out is this: Why in the world would anyone want to turn off the lights in an elevator car?
On a related note I'm lobbying to get a long-life lamp placed in there, maybe an LED or an induction lamp.
