Yesterday and today our weather was 15-20 degrees above average, around 70 degrees.
I sat in the sun for 20 minutes listening to music, yesterday, trying to get some color on this pathetically white skin of mine, and today again with some friends with a couple of beers, and glasses of wine. I put my fleece shirt on and off as the sun came in and out of the clouds.

Relating happy stories with friends puts a smile on my face.
Life is good.

We had a fairly warm and humid day Saturday with the sky looking like rain nearly all day. While sitting out back on my patio alone it brings back memories as a kid when the town was all sleepy on Sundays and in the distance you could hear some kid on a dirt bike, maybe a couple having fun on land long since paved over.

These days it depends on which way the wind blows what noise pollution we hear since the shopping district was built. So instead of the sound of birds chirping or children laughing it's a chorus of hell's accountants out for a ride or sirens, or a 105db leaf blower.
Sigh!

So I step back inside for a bit and put on some noise cancelling ear buds in pass thru mode, playing some cocktail jazz or something mellow at a low volume and smile at the memories of a simpler time knowing I live in a bubble time forgot yet just outside my boundry modern civilization is just a stones throw away. That means pizza and ice cream are less than a 20 minute walk from us.

With ear buds in pass thru mode I can still hear dogs barking in the distance or a neighbor who has their windows opens phone ringing. Yet the pollution seems to vanish.

Okay, here's a BIG one:

When you work at a university and you have downtime during work hours, as long as you're not shirking any duties that may pop up, nobody minds if you crack open a PDF file and a notebook and get to studying. It feels lovely.
