If it is made by G.S. then it is probably an actuator, similar to the GM20.

Yep it is a galvo,torsion bars etc.
They work well for abstacts etc. not for animations or text..
Also used for moving a prism,filters,frequency coated optics or even shutters.
they are very slow scanners.

ahhh i c now, i though galvos were mainly for graphics. the ones which are for graphics are really really expencive and i though £20 was very cheap for galvos, plus they do kinda look like servos heh heh
