That's a steep pitch CG. I'm familiar with "roof jacks" where a 2x4 board lays across metal brackets. What stops the (rubber/poly?) hoppers from slipping? They look very functional👌
It's soft foam. Here's a picture from the manufacturer's website.

Summertime is not the time to plant grass. 🥵 Grass seed is expensive. Give it a chance by sowing during late September/early October, while the soil temp is still warm and it has started to rain.
its kind of just moving from the edges but still have patches of no grass but way better then it was

Those Hoppers are very handy indeed..
Indeed!

Did you wear grippy gum sole shoes, like Vans ?
My experience has proven that high-top work boots perform best for me. The soles are firm.

Safety rope backup is good idea..
Always.

Nice job CG you're hired!
Thanks, Gary, but my Summer work schedule is full. 😁 Also, I charge by the hour ... you don't want to hire me to paint on an hourly scale. I Am Slow.

CG, are you able to use the old stair runners for templates, or going with different design, not attached to siding, free standing?
The original design had one stringer attached to the adjacent wall. It's in good condition, so I saved it to use on the stairs for another project.

The original stairs had an issue I want to change. The small roof overhang made it difficult to carry large furniture from the first run to the second. That's why I removed the handrail and post a while back. I asked Captain Ron, my contractor, to add an additional tread to the first run and to widen them. He suggested a design where all the stairs will be four feet wide and the first run will be adjacent to the second with a large landing joining them. The new treads will be composite with four stringers. None of them will be attached to the house.

I started removing about four inches of the soil from that area. I'm going to replace it with crushed rock.
