This Is What I've Been Up to Lately.

Some food for thought

Do you see that white board? That's what I used to push/pack dirt into the cavity.

Dirt is dirt-cheap. 😁

Absolutely more better!
LOL I started using that saying years ago just to bug our son's new Principal, a young man I came to very much hold in high regard. 😁
Are you going to sell it when you are done?
You significantly increased its marketability.
No, I don't plan on selling the property.

The new stairs and composite decking materials are scheduled to be delivered today. Hopefully, construction will commence on Monday. 🏗️

How can you post pictures of a shed without telling us about your lighting plans for it? Especially in this forum!
Good point.

It has motion sensing flashlights.
Two little 3aaa motion sensor lights to light up as I enter and a few COB lights magnetized at strategic areas to light up work areas if needed. All use ultimate lithium batteries.

I've been prepping these cantilevered joists (for painting) for what seems like an eternity. I'm sanding them so they'll remain Summer dry.

BTW - Overhead sanding sucks!

Speaking of illumination - I've installed 12 new LED security lights. Our Pastor asked me - "Why so many?" I replied - "It makes it easier to get a bead on the evil-doers."

The joists are painted. The new composite deck boards are grey. The Lovely Mrs Gardener and I haven't decided on the color for the rim joist. Much of the 2nd-floor deck will be rebuilt, so we're waiting to see where the new Cedar will be visible from the ground.

I bought this sometime around 1988. Since then I wiped it down with WD40 twice, maybe three times, to keep the woods from drying out. The blue is the only thing that is not natural. I want to restore it to its natural beauty, and have the blue re-dyed, I brought it to a woodsman hobbyist/artist. He frowned when I told him that I used WD40.

Oh well.

I told him I'd like it back by the end of the year. I have a nice plain wall for it to hang on.

Wow! That is a beautiful piece of art, Poppy. 👍 👍
Thanks chance.
I loved it first time I saw it, and it was an instant gratification buy. I never regretted it.

The gentleman who will refinish it explained that he will have to cut a little relief with a exacto-knife to outline the blue so that the stain/dye doesn't bleed to the surrounding woods.

When I get it back, I hope I can find this thread to post an updated finished version.

Two things that I've never regretted purchasing come to mind, tools and art.

I admire true artisans.

I have a lot more projects to accomplish. I'll keep posting them. 🤓
