This Is What I've Been Up to Lately.

LOL, Italian?
I thought it was French! And suspected that you lived close to Canada.

Chance, it's coming along nicely.
I'm eating an elephant one bite at a time.

I was wondering if you were going to attempt the stairs.
Doing the math and layout for stairs is a skill that most of us do not have.
I never considered building the new stairs. They'd be way too much to take on given my lack of knowledge and experience.

Painting from an articulated lift isn't fun. They sway, buck, and jerk ya every which way but luckily, not lose. However, they are a great deal safer.

The last time I painted Mom's house I utilized ladders. That was in 2008.

A project car I was helping my son with is on the way to New York.

A low mileage 93 Toyota Aristo from Japan.

We worked on it for about a year until he met his (now) wife. It sat for about a year until this collector reached out and sent a young fellow to pick it up.

I'm out of the car restore thing but help him with his at times.

This is the next money pit for his wife.
Super nice old Lexus GS 300.

My next project is a 95 Ranger sitting in my back yard for 10 years. The goal is to gut the interior and reupohlstery with a nice denim and some accents along the dash board. The carpet is still like new.

There is zero rust on the ole gal so when it's time we'll have it shot with a new coat of red paint and have a ceramic coat placed over that. It only has 78k miles on it.

Yeah, a cherry picker makes the going up and down, safer and easier compared to using ladders. Pump jacks and scaffolding is also an option, but 20 years ago, I probably would have used ladders too.

Had you considered using a spray gun?
It's amazing how fast they are.

I used to use a Wagner refillable roller when painting ceilings. But holding about 3 pounds of paint it gets heavy after a bit. Cleanup was a chore too but I could get a lot more work done in a day with that vs a paint tray method.

A friend sprayed Mom's garage while I back-rolled. It was amazingly fast and the results were good. Unfortunately, he's been busy working. His airless spray is at Mom's, but this is not a project I was to learn on. I'll use it when painting the Pool Hall.

I think the last time I used a spray gun was about 20 years ago. My next door neighbor put up a wooden picket fence, and he painted/stained only his side. It was four or five feet tall and ran about 30 feet. I got the same green color and stained my side in less than 30 minutes. It took longer to clean and put my equipment away than to do the actual job.

I finished painting the body on the South side of the house. The trim will be done later.

Removed the moss and gutter from the Northern deck.

Doing so will facilitate the removal of the 45-year-old fiberglass.

Prepped/caulked the cracks and knotholes in this section of the cedar siding.

Painted it.

Then I painted the risers on the first run of the new stairs.

The midway landing had some composite decking attached by the professional.

What is this time off you speak of? Even when I was in the operating room prep room, being prepped for surgery, my office was still blowing up my phone. Once of the nurses kindly asked if I'd like her to handle the phone calls and I gladly handed over the phone to her. She proceeded to rip them each time they called.
