Last night I went to use my EliteMax only to find it a great deal dimmer than normal. Even "bright" was, well, dim. Upon running the battery test I was able to confirm that I've finally hit the "curved" part of the relatively flat discharge curve inherent in Lithium batteries. Switching the regulated action on, things got even more impressive. Instead of 15 levels of dim, it was more of bright, bright, bright, unusably dim.

This light is my bedside light, and my #1 go to light when traveling. I have to say I'm impressed. But this leaves me with some questions:

1 - The writing on the back is starting to wear off. Solution?

2 - Where's the best place to get more Lithiums?

1. If there's enough writing left cover it with a sticky laminate sheet to protect what's left.

2. Battery Station. 20 Li AAs for $20

Hello Ryan,

If you have used the light enough to wear the writing off, you should have the directions memorized by now... :nana:

The EternaLight was my very first LED flashlight! Purchased through a now-defunct catalog.

I'll second the recommendation for batterystation lithium AA's.n You can't beat the price and their performance is very similar to the more than double priced energizers.

the only thing about battery station lithium batteries that would make me happier would be a AAA version :)

1. What Tom said or write or call TechAss for a new sticker.

2. Like others have said, the best deal by far is BS. It sounds like you haven't been using the Lithiums, except for what came in your EL. When you get the 20, try some in other lights, especially what you carry or keep in the car. They're lighter, last longer, don't leak, aren't as susceptible to extreme hot or cold, and make most lights brighter.

If you want a better than new light, mod your EL with the new 2x Nichas. They really are twice as bright without using any more juice than the dimmer ones.

Mine went around the "curve" recently too..
The sticker is becoming a concern of mine as well.. I have been debating finding a way to get the information "inside" the blue plastic, can't get hurt in there. I just need to remember what the 5 indicators mean when cycling through the menu.

I did have an odd problem with battery voltage, one cell was at .33V while the remaining two were at 1.15 (I just started a post about this in Batteries section)

TIN, I dont think that will help, the stickers are very high quality and the actual writing seems to be just fine, it is the outer edges of the sticker that seem to be lifting, ever so slowly.
I would have suspected the writing to come off from exposure to daily chemicals, cologne, sun screen (I can't be the only one who picks a light to take to the beach, at noon.. ) or what ever else happens to be on my hands at the time.. It seems to be holding well..

To protect the lettering, I would buy some automotive touch-up clear coat paint and paint it over the lettering. You can get it in small containers that have a built-in brush for a few dollars at WalMart in the automotive section.
