threads (not the forum kind - the ones on lights)

i see lots of different thread sizes on flashlights - fine, course, 3 threads, 15 threads etc

is there a best thread size / type / amount

i like to have a good number of threads
but not too fine

also id like to know what size threads the following manufactures use

Surefire
TNC
Fenix
Mcgizmo

any othere info or discussion on threads would be good too

Once this information is documented, I'd love to have it on the CPF Wiki. I think that is a resource that is very much under-utilized. At the very least, the thread size and length of threaded section would be useful in identifying possible 'flashlight legos' before the purchase. Lens diameter and battery tube length/diameter should be there too.
