tightening the beam on the stanley hid

my stanley DOES have a hotspot but it has a small spot and a VERY large outer ring at about 75 feet, so i need to shim my bulb, my question is, i wanna get the tightest spot possible,that I can, does someone have detailed instructions/ pics about how to take the bulb out and do this???and should i use copper washers or steel? i thing copper is a better heat conductor. also the farther i shing it the more spread out the beam, this is drivin me crazy!!!!
