Yes, I have decided that it is time for another flashlight. This time, it is for keyring duty. I did have a Fenix L0D-CE Q4 on its way to me for this purpose, but it looks like that has disappeared somewhere in the International Shipping System. It has been six weeks since it was sent out, so I assume it is in the pocket of some corrupt mail clerk

It is probably a good thing though. In the time spent waiting for the Fenix, I rediscovered Lummi and bought my first (and one for the missus) and now I'm hooked. One way for me to avoid the risks of international shipping is to buy from my home country! Thank goodness for Lummi I say:twothumbs.

Well, obviously the Wee is the favourite candidate for keyring duty. I have a P1D-CE on there, and it is a bit too big - makes me look like I have hips:sick2: I have already decided to go for the maximum 80 lumen output with at least one rechargable cell for two reasons.

1) It is incredibly unlikely that I will use it for more than 30 minutes between charging opportunities.

2)I have a Raw Ti already, which provides 160 lumens or 15 lumens. The 80 lumen Wee sits nicely, roughly halfway between the two.

Now for the decision time. NS or Ti? At this current moment in time, I have holidays to pay for and save for, so the Ti may be a bit of a stretch for the funds. I cannot decide whether to stump up for the NS, or save a little longer for the Ti

What do you guys think?

 Mike. Your have some credit if your looking @ spending a penny.
Weeeeeee

I've got a 50 lumen version of the WEE NS.

I find it to be the best small light I've had as far as light output goes. 80 lumens might be too much for regular use, as the reflection may inhibit many of the tasks I use it for.

As for keychain duty, I'm hesatant. Mine is attached to my change purse (yea, I keep my change and ready money in a "purse") and I have experienced a body separation - and the following "where is it" panic. As my keys see even more movement, I'd expect the phenomena to occur more often.

Also, I find the NS WEE to be light enough. Any lighter, and I'd never notice it and more "where'd it go" moments would ensue.

I've just acquired a Wee Ti (definitely the highest price per gram I've paid for a light so I consider it too nice to put on a keychain at the moment – I carry mine in a shirt pocket. Maybe familiarity with it will change this, after all it is made from Ti so may be able to resist scratches better than the NS version?) The Wee Ti is very nice. Haven't seen the Wee NS, I'm sure that is good too. I recall reading somewhere that someone who had seen them both couldn't really tell the difference between them in terms of weight. I went for the 25lumen version of the Wee in the end. It's very floody, much less of a hotspot than my Raw NS on low but great for sculking round the house or reading in bed without dazzling myself. I like the idea of having the smallest, brightest light possible but for what I use it for the 25lumen version, although not especially powerful, does the trick admirably. I'd like to get a 50lumen or 80lumen emitter at some point just for fun.

Titanium is more scratch resistant than Nickel-Silver, but still prone to scratches. Even though my Raw Ti is a beautiful work of art, it is in no danger of being a shelf queen. All my lights are to be used, no matter how nice they are.

In a way, I'm glad that Fenix hasn't turned up. Perfect opportunity to put something a lot nicer on my keys. Wish it didn't cost me £23 to find that out though.:(

Same here, but I gotta say that putting them in the same pocket with keys is abuse, not use.

There are far better ways of carrying them that will keep them readily accessible AND (mostly) protected.

Just as an example:

The top picture shows the light about 1/2 in the holster.

This holster took all of about 25 minutes to make.

Nice holster.

I haven't yet managed to find or put together a holster for my raw that I'm happy with. It's one light that for whatever reason doesn't seem to be on the radar of the holster makers. I did put some kydex in the oven and came out with something functional, but it's less than ideal. Keeps it safe from keys though.

Putting it on my keys is not ideal, but I almost always have my car nearby, so I ALWAYS have my keys. 98 - 99% of the time, I have my Raw Ti, but putting something on the keys guarantees light 100% of the time.

That is actually the ONLY prerequisite to buying this light; it must reside on the keychain. Being a Lummi is just a choice, being Titanium, an extravagance, but being a keychain light is essential. Besides, I don't mind a few character marks.

I couldn't bring myself to do it! I've got an ArcAAAP on my keys which I think is scratching them, not the other way round! My WEE goes on a lanyard (actually a bootlace!) around my neck and under my shirt to stop it bouncing around. I actually had to stop the shower this morning and take it off, I'd gotten so used to wearing it!

Why not just carry them in the plastic protective case they came in?

The one the Wee comes in isn't really designed for it. It would work if you cut and glued some foam pieces in it to keep it from rattling around. I did it to mine and it works quite nicely, but I just don't find the square shape comfortable in my pocket.
