Here's the culprit:

It's the only good picture I can find of the head.
The bezel is on bottom in that picture.

The emitter needs to get out to get replaced with something with a lot less of blue.

Tried boiling and then giving it a twist with a good sized "plummers plier".
Tried leather between the head and plier but the surface is really slippery and the area to grip is quite narrow, and it gave me the slip even with more boiling and more tries.

Any good tips?

I'd like to try xp-e r2 in this, where to get one without the s&h being more than the emitter?

You could try the deep freezing -> boiling method. It may be necessary to repeat this several times, but there have been some reports that this can "kill" even the most stubborn glue. Of course it can also shatter your lens. :poof: :sigh:

I thought of boiling and then cold spray to the bezel, but that might leave me without a working lens...

You'll find that a chunk of innertube wrapped around the light and held in place by a hose clamp works very well. Most times it's not that the glue hasn't loosened, just that you can't get a good grip on the light. another thing that works very well if you're a hardcore modder like myself is a pair of bionic wrenches made by loggerhead tools.
