Sold/Expired Triple Seoul P7 / Cree MC-E Kit for Mag D

Sorry, forgot to ask... what size wire is on your "A" driver board already, in awg. Is this ok for the 3xp7 mod? If not what size do you recommend.

Am i right in thinking i can use a smaller diameter wire for the s3 connection? If so what size would you recommend?
Thanks.

Yes, it ok for the triple Seoul P7 mod. otherwise I wouldn't use them. The diameter 0.5mm²

Nice mod 🙂

Would it be possible to use this mod in a 6 cell mag?

Thanks

As long as the voltage is correct, yes

Re: Triple Seoul P7 Kit for Mag D

Do you have more detailed schematics on how to hook this up?

In your PDF file on your driver, you say

"Input voltage must be greater than output voltage, otherwise the driver will go into DD mode. If the input voltage is lower than the min. voltage then the driver turns off."

What exactly does that mean?

What is the time period for the PWN? And if that is not used, how do I terminate the input?

For the mode selector, what is the time period for the momentary switch?

Thanks for the feedback. Will update the datasheet.

Can tell me which part of the schematic should be more detailed?

If your input voltage is lower than the minimum voltage which the driver needs to operate (4.2V) then it will shut itself down.

The pwm frequency is 1kHz.

In order to change modes the momentary switch need to be pressed for at least around 1.3s

OK, thanks for the quick reply. I'll give this build a second go.

After hours of trying to get this thing to work; nothing happened. The only way I was able to power up the LED's was with a separate power supply, bypassing the driver. Through process of elimination we concluded that the driver wasn't responding at all 🙁.

Before I installed everything in the Maglite, we did bench testing. External power supply, oscilloscope, momentary switch etc. The driver was being very stubborn. So yes, we had S3 hooked up to a momentary switch.

Hi, started building mine now, soldered the leds together, soldered a wire into s3, all going well so far, i suppose i just need a m@g now 😀

Just a quickie, as i dont want the emitters to be forever bonded, is it ok to mix arctic alumina adhesive with arctic alumina paste (non adhesive)? If so what ratio? Same as in your youtube vid?
Thanks.

Is this the correct wiring schematics? If not, where exactly does S3 connect to?

Does the Maglite have to be case positive?

If this is incorrect, can you please draw out a Maglite diagram for the 4 mode driver?

I just accidentally dropped my Triple from 2 meters to asphalt :faint: !

Thank God I had a :bow:Maglite with quality components - only a minor sractch to the bezel and it still works just fine 😀 !

Thank you again DW for good work
