Hi,
I have been lurking around here and got some very good info and purchased my TN36UT from info gathered here. I really like the new light and was trying figure out a way to mount it to a tripod without spending a lot of cash since it does not have a tripod mount built in. So, with my first post to the site I thought I'd detail how I did this for the TN36UT and the cost was just over $3.00 US or about $4.00 Cdn where I live. :D I purchase a tripod mount for a gopro here and gopro wrist strap here. I did have to wait about three weeks for this and some other stuff to arrive but was in no hurry anyway.

I had to knock the nut out of the tripod mount then take a shipping knife and trim the collar off the tripod mount. This could also be done with a file or griner I would think. Then I trimmed one side of the wrist strap mount so the screw could reach the nut to tighten up. Here are a few pictures of the completed mount for the TN36UT. This may not work for a smaller bodied light because of the strap but that could probably be shortened as well. Here are a few pictures. Hope this helps out others looking for and inexpensive way to use this type of light on a tripod.
