Cammenga makes the current US military compass. They also now make a tritium wrist compass. Mine was delivered last week from US Cavalry. It cost $35 plus $5 shipping. It comes with its own strap and is very accurate. The tritium capsules are small but, they put out enough green light until there is enough natural light to read the compass card. They got the tritium light level just right, but, they are not super bright. The only problem is that it rattles. It is a dry compass and all dry compass's that I own, rattle. Wearing this one on your wrist makes it rattle even more, every time you move your arm.
This wrist compass is cheaper than the full size tritium Cammenga compass at about $80, and is a good bargain. Every true CPFer must own something with tritium.

Links and pictures would be VERY nice, but, they are way above this two fingered typist's, skill level. :) Google - Cammenga.

Cave, Thanks. A picture is worth a thousand (or more) of my words.

Strange coincidence. I purchased one yesterday and wondered why I hadn't seen them discussed on the forums (I hadn't seen your post). I wonder if they are a new item. I purchased directly from the Cammenga site for $40 but the shipping is free which is great since I am in Australia.

I will be using it for a field survey in Vanuatu in July. Too bad about the rattling. Is it loud?

The rattling is not loud and I think I would get used to it. Those around you in a social setting would notice it. I was surprised a compass intended fot the military would rattle at all.

What size stap does it have (in mm)? I'm wondering if it can ride along on my 20mm Zulu strap.
