Two questions regarding the Triton 2:
Can the Triton 2 be rigged to the Voltcraft cradle for parallel LiIon charging?
Will the Triton 2 safely charge emoli cells in series?

You need a seperate balancer for Triton 2 i believe.

thanks rizky_P,
My Triton 2 hasn't arrived yet but I believe it has only one output. I spoke with ElectriFly and their balancers, as with all other RC balancers I've seen, are designed only for LiPo packs.

Thanks SilverFox,
I understand that the process is almost identical, but isn't there a small voltage difference? If I were to get the equinox, hook up with the triton 2, then wire up a voltcraft cradle, could I safely charge and balance LiIon's in parallel? I'll probably be using emoli's for the most part, but occaionally AW's C and 18650's.

Hello Shakeylegs,

When Li-Ion cells were first introduced, they were only charged to 4.1 volts. Since that time, they have been improved and now most of the Li-Ion cells are charged to 4.2 volts. There are some cells made by Saft and others that are specialized for space and other use that are still charged to 4.1 cells, but none of the cells we use fall in that category.

Any Li-Po balancer that is designed around balancing cells at 4.2 volts will work fine on the Li-Ion cells that we are using.

When you charge cells in parallel, you don't need a balancer. You only need to worry about balance when the cells are in series.

yeah be extra careful when you get this kind of charger as you can change many of the charging parameters. just dont go :poof: with lithiums :)
