Hi, i am new to flashlight world.

i am actually looking for a led flashlight with an output around 1000lumens or more.

i came across this brand Trustfire. Any comments on this brand? i read one of flashlight review, saying that this brand is the worst amongst ...fire brand. is that true.

i kinda interested on this trustfire x8 which has 1000+lumens. howver, i am very uncertain on the real output lumens. anyone have feedback or review on this model>

thanks.. 🙂

heres a review of the X8. It is a very well built light and quite a good thrower.

Don't let the money guys talk you into something you can't afford... many Ultrafire and Trustfire lights need more respect as they are turning out some nice lights. Granted, some are junk also and you have to be selective.

Try budgetlightforum.com - there are many reviews on there for Chinese lights and a bunch of nice folks that don't prejudge "budget" lights as crap from the wrong side of the tracks.

If you want a real winner, check out the 3X XML Skyray "3800 Lumen" light. Everyone raves about it-your lumen range for 52, not 500, dollars! Check manafont.com , a Chinese dealer with a good rep that is communicative with good English and ships same/next day. They have the Skyray there.

How about a Trustfire X9 bro? The beamshots show that it thrashes the X8. Do a google (and subsequently note on which forum that info is from.....no memorise it).

On Ebay it is a bit lower, but if you do a google, dealextreme/manafont would include the nice gift box and 18650/charger. Anyway the light is nice, the charger probably does the job well but it'd be best not to leave the battery there after it turns green (fully charged) so as to avoid any potential overcharge issues, the battery may or may not be good, i'd advise getting better cells like XTAR 2600 (Sanyo 2600 cell) or Panasonic NCR18650 2900mAH.

Apologies, its the beamshots of Sky Ray STL-V2 vs X8, and the Sky Ray thrashed the X8. The Sky Ray / Fandyfire are extremely close to a Olight M3X. I'll have lux and current measurements in about a week's time.

I am looking to pick up that trustfire X9 in the next 2-3 weeks (need to pay some bills first) Looks like a well made light for the $$.

Agree with the other member, some are good some are bad. If you get a good one it will be just as durable / reliable as anything, a bad one will leave a sour taste in your mouth.

One of my best 18650 P60 hosts is an ultrafire. Its BIGGER body diameter and thicker walled than my 18650 bored 6P. Its got a deep threaded bezel area that fully cradles the drop in to maximize thermal transfer.

I have a question related to the 18650 batteries for these lights. What is the best battery to use for this light? Can I use 3000 mah or 3600 mah batteries and not blow out the LED? Thanks.

3000mAh and 3600mAh is the capacity of the battery not the voltage. 3600mAh hold more than 3000mAh but not no-one makes 3600mAh capacity battriess, Panasonic make 3000mAh at most these are used in many batteries like Xtar, AW and other makes of batteries etc. read post 5

4 of my favorite lights are Trustfires.
On the other hand, take claims of high lumens from budget Chinese light companies very lightly. They tend to be about 25-30% optimistic with their claims.

Very true about the lumens, but they are still fun lights to use that are very bright. I don't feel so bad if I brake one or scratch it.
