Trying not to quit

Hi all, newbie here have been lurking here for about a month started my addiction with the River rock AA from target then saved enough to get my first Surefire and chose the E1L. The very same day I got the light I lost it. Since it rode high in my front right pocket it must have slipped out while getting in and out of the car. Now I feel like I should give up my love of lights and move on but my addiction wants me to buy another SF. I feel like I have lost a friend and really want to get another Sf for this was to be my EDC, but dont know if I should spend the $$ again. will a new light ease the pain? Help, what do I do?

Wow, that is bad, but I would not let it keep you from lights.... All the more reason to purchase another!

Sorry to hear about your loss. But once a flashaholic, always a flashaholic. Even if you want to quit, you probably can't. Make yourself feel better by getting yourself a light or three! It's a bright new world, thanks to all the flashlights around here!

I'm sorry about loosing your first great light.

You could always look at good reviewed Cree/Seoul/Rebel lights at Dealextreme if you want a cheap light.

Thinking of getting an L1 this time and getting a lanyard to alow the light fall deep into my pocket. Or do you all think the L1 is to big as an EDC?

That sucks! I'm sorry to here that.
What I do with a few of my lights is use a long lanyard so I can string part of the cord through my belt. So the light can sit very deep in my pocket and if it dose fall it will tug a little bit, so hopefully I will feel something.

Yep, lanyards do wonders sometimes.
Sorry to hear about that. Sucks to loose $100+ I've done that with sunglasses before.

:welcome: and do not give up hope on the flashlight world yet. Go out and buy yourself not one but two new lights, it will take the edge off and give you two new lights to play around with.

Look at it this way now you have an excuse to really buy a new light, you need one, not just want one. :twothumbs

Welcome. I say buy a light and may I suggest looking into a multi level light. It's very handy to have at least 2 levels (low and high) for EDC. Maybe try a Fenix or Liteflux or something similar if you don't want to spend too much or if you have the means how about a Surefire L1?

I lost my HDS recently and it was a serious bummer. I bought a cheap light to replace it becasue I didn't want to spend the cash on a new one, and that got me by for a few weeks until the HDS turned up in my basement :woot:

I thought mine was gone for good but it wasn't, you may still find yours too. Why don't you grab a cheap dealextreme light to mess with for a while and see if yours turns up?

Look into cheaper lights such as the ones from DealExtreme.
They usually offer a rather better bang-per-buck ratio than expensive SureFires (well, unless you're a soldier needing a bulletproof light) and even if you lose one you shouldn't feel like ripping all your hair off.

thanks guys! I feel better already, decided on the L1 and found it in stock here at a climbing store. Going after work to get it. Will have t get another cheaper light as well to ease more of the pain LOL. The adiction is back!!!

I remember when I lost my first 'real' light. It was a Fenix L1P. Man, I loved that light. I was sick when I lost it. So, I got a L1T. Now my brother has the L1T and I carry a Milky modded HDS U60.
