Twist switches, how do they work?

Hi, I hope this is the right place for this.
How do those twist switched work like I have seen in a AAA video to change modes on a light? THe one I saw had a button on the back, but twisted to go to like strobe mode etc.
Are they available to mod with somewhere? Just curious. Thanks!

A twist switch is really just making contact from the tailcap to the body of the flashlight....not actually a switch at all. The button just does the same thing- but only as long as you hold it in. Very reliable...and cheap to make.
