Two new Energizer Cree Flashlights

Well about time aussies had something with nice value. The 2xaa one is $40 at woolworths. $25 usd for ya yanks the efficency is disappointing though and the reflector is a really shallow plastic job.

Not quite...according to the spec sheets, the 1AA model is rated 65 lum @ max and the 2AA - 110 lum @ max. No min settings are listed.

Since these new lights are PWM & adjustable, it is not unreasonable to assume that they may have similar output for their lowest settings. But until someone is willing to buy one of each and test them out 😗
that remains to be discovered.

I believe he was referring to levels on min, not max. Many people already have these lights, as online stores have carried them for a while.

Spotted the 1xAA model at Target today for $39.99.

FYI if you're hunting for a decent B&M light.

My local Target now has two of the 1AA lights in stock for the same price. They are surprisingly fat and long for a 1AA flashlight. Elaborate packaging.

Just saw these show up at my local Target for $39.99. No 2AA models yet, but I decided to bite the bullet and get one of the 1AA models to see what they're like.

Let us know what you think about it. One reviewer commented on the blue tint and beam artifacts. Wonder if that's common for the 1AA model.

I don't know about the quality of the Energizer single AA light with variable brightness control, but for just about exactly the same money you can get and ITP C7, and then you can for about $10 more get a 2xAA body or a 1xrcr123 body to play lego with. They are all excellent quality and are proven to be reliable. Plus you can have the invaluable excellent service and backup of an excellent company. :duh2:
ps...I have no connection with Shiningbeam, just a very satisfied customer of Bryans.

+1 on the ICP C7T. Nice variable brightness control that works by twisting bezel (very cool!). Can't speak on the Energizer lights but the iCP is one of my new favorite lights in my stable.

+2 mine should be coming back from warrentee any day now. although the enegizer is $20 cheaper here.

One of the Targets here in the Raleigh, NC area (Brier Creek) had four new Energizer models. They had the single AA, 2AA, 4AAA, and some sort of headlight. I was tempted to get the 2 AA model, but I thought the price was a bit high for it. I think they are probably good lights, but the average user is not going to buy them. I am expecting them to be at closeout prices before too long 🙂. The last two River Rock models did not stay very long, and they were priced somewhat lower. They did not have variable brightness, however.

New "Energizer E2 Lithium LED Lights" at Target

At Target today I spotted three new aluminum bodied lights. Name of the line is the thread title. All come with lithium batteries. All are somewhat bullet shaped grayish aluminum with tail clickies and clips. There's a 1 AA rated at 65 lumens, a 4 AAA rated at 90 lumens, and a 2 AA rated at 110 lumens. Prices are $40, $45, and $50, I think. Seems way overpriced. Appeared to be some kind of Crees in them. Sorry, there may have been more info in the fine print on the packaging, but I couldn't take the time to read it all.

Unfortunately they have tail switches. I bought one of the regular Energizer 2AA LED lights specifically because has a regular Mag form factor with the switch on the side. This is much more convenient for every day use.

Is this the Hard Case and how do you like it? Where's the 1/2 or 1 watt cree in this design.

New Interesting Lights From Target; warning picture heavy

I stopped by Target to pick up some batteries; as always I had to check the flashlight isle.

These lights got my attention right away due to the fancy packaging. The packages are held shut by velcro.

These are the fanciest lights I've seen at a big name BM store. The new energizers had PWM, XR-E cree, OP reflector (I think), rampable light output, and a clip. Batteries included.

There were 4 Models: 1 AA (65 max lumens), 2 AA (110 max lumens), 4 AAA (90 max lumens), Headlamp (130 max lumens).

I think the 1 AA was 40 bucks, 2 AA and 4 AAA was 45 bucks, don't remember the headlamp's price.

I'm really suprised how advanced flashlights are getting at BM stores. I'm suprised by all the high tech jargon on the packaging; and it makes sense!

Re: New Interesting Lights From Target; warning picture heavy

Oops didn't realize they have been out for a while now. This was the first time I've seen these lights.

Re: New Interesting Lights From Target; warning picture heavy

Cool lights...I guess I need to get to Target more often and see what they have there.

Re: New Interesting Lights From Target; warning picture heavy

I got the 2AA light for father's day.

It's a comfortable light to use and plenty bright for most purposes (even when you've ramped the output all the way down to preserve batteries). It's not programmable at all (always starts at 100%), but it's very simple to use. I keep it in the car as an emergency flashlight.

It'll always be a loaner since if I'm on my own, I'd rather steal it's batteries to keep my quark AA running...

Re: New Interesting Lights From Target; warning picture heavy

Pretty old news, but I really dislike the design anyhow. It's illogical to make the head taper and thus loose reflector size, all for a very tiny size advantage.
