I love the form factor of the UK 2AA incandesecent: just 4.2-inch long , with a momentary/full-on switch right where your thumb falls. Still, who of us doesn't want to make a good thing better?
The Pelican Mitylite 2AA has a more pleasing beam: rounder, fewere artifacts, and wider, though with less throw. For the record, Pelican rates the Mitylite 2AA at 7 lumens, 8000 cp; UK rates its 2AA at 10.7 lumens.
I've discovered that you can fit the Mitilite's bulb assembly into the UK 2AA's head--but just barely. The Mitilite's BA is taller, and once it was in place, it took me nearly two minutes of struggling before I succeeded in threading the UK's head onto the UK body.
I may go back to the UK bulb assembly. I find that LEDs work better as floods, incandescents for throw. And for my flood, I now have a Peak 5LED Kilimanjaro high-output on my keyring.
