I have a pair of Ultrafire XSL 18650 2400 mah batteries. These seem to work just fine. They power my ultrafire wf-500 for at least 40 mins. I would like to know if they are protected or not. They do not say on them. The blue wrap has writing on it that says that full charge is 4.2 volts and cut off voltage is 2.75 volts. This leads me to believe they are protected. It appears that there is a circuit board on the + end under the blue wrap, but I dont know for sure. Any more info is appreciated. Another question, what is the best quality 18650 to use?
