Hi all, just got a Ultrafire wf-139 charger and 2 x 14500 protected cells, i have a question.

When charging them, i'm getting a strange sequence in the lights, first the indicators showed green, then i put the cells in, now they're showing:-

green for about a second; then
red for about a second; then
green/red (the charging blink).

then it repeats. Is there anything wrong with either the cells or the charger?? I'm actually leaning towards the cells cos i actually got this wf-139 for my 18650 light (using trustfire protected 2400 mAh cells on those and they're fine).

could use some help here, thanks!

Sidebar: any idea when spacers will be in so i can consider getting rcr123 lights?? i live in a flashlight wasteland (singapore) and getting these parts, batteries and lights in are a bit of a hassle. Also i'm quite the technically challenged type so opening the charger to do some soldering etc which i read about is quite daunting.

There are a couple of ways to get RCR123 cells charged in the wf-139.
  • Kramer5150 made his own spacers by taking some wooden dowel and put a screw through it so that it makes contact with the end of the 18650 bay.
  • AW sells his spacers seperately over on CPFMP
  • 4sevens sells AW's spacers (round metal balls)
  • You can get some 1mm x 9mm rare earth magnets at DX and "extend" the batteries.
