Here is a picture on a chinese-language wholesaler site. It does look like the TR-1200 http://www.okf1.cn/product.asp?id=629

I'll bet they have used the new (max) 460+ lumen CREE XP-Gs. From the data sheet lumen vs. forward current graph http://www.cree.com/Products/xlamp_xpg.asp it looks like the chip would put out right around 360 lumens at 1 amp - that same TR-1200 driver. 360 lm x 5 emitters = 1800 lm.

I want one! But nowhere to buy it... :awman:

I am certain that they dont have xp-g's at least it doesn't look like the xp-g in my p60 drop in Mine seems to run from 4x 16340 but the one on DX says only up to 12v? Hmm it might be slightly different? is there a way to tell if it can handle that type of voltage? its not turning into a cloud of smoke or anything and these cheap chinese brands are well known for over rating lumens :) i dont mind it seems brighter than the single Xp-g i have... compared to my P7 mag it seems to have better throw but less flood Ohh also theres a high pitch humming sound? comming from the tail cap i m not sure what taht is from.. i can barley hear it... i can only hear it in a silent room what does that mean though? i think it has something to do with the driver?/ multi modes? The pitch changes with hi medium and low

They could have different drivers.

Why would you want to? Use two 18650's and be happy. You could use 4 16340's, but what would be the point? It wouldn't be any brighter and wouldn't run as long. Plus I don't know that it's a great idea to put 4 li-ion cells together in series like that if you don't have to.

Check all of your connections and make sure all the bare metal parts are clean (like the end of the tube, threads). Could also be a bad connection in the switch so check if anything isn't lining up there. It could be a poor solder joint, so if you're handy with a soldering iron you might need to re-solder a joint (at the LED or the wires going into the driver) if one looks like a cold joint or bad work.

Ok, first post here

I bought the same light in Shanghai a couple months ago and it has quit working! I dont know if it is the contacts or what but I cant get it to work. It was working fine and seems that it started acting up after I changed the batteries so I am thinking the contacts are bad somewhere. does the board come out the back of the head?
