I just made an accidental discovery that I am very satisfied with. I changed one of the nickel plated brass pistons from one of my aluminum PD's into one of my new Ti PD's and put the titanium piston into the aluminum PD.

When I pick up my aluminum PD with the titanium piston I keep on thinking that I forgot to put the battery in it but then I turn it on an light comes out.

It appears to me, there is a noticeable weight savings on the titanium piston. I am gonna keep it this way.

I actually really like the "heft" the brass piston gives my PD...but to each their own! :)

For carrying purposes it would be nice if the pistons would have holes in them to save weight.
IMHO :D

Thanks for bringing this up goatee

It really does make a noticable difference

so I weighed mine:-

Ti piston from (XR-19) - 15g
Brass(?) piston from Al PD - 27g

Standard Al PD (LuxIII) - 90g
Standard Al PD (LuxIII) with Ti piston - 78g (13% decrease)

Ti XR-19 PD - 105g
Ti XR-19 PD with brass piston - 117g (11% increase)

Ian :)
