SOLVED: Wrapping plastic strip round the head, then gripping it with pliers, and clamping the tail did the job.
I can't open my Sunwayman V10A, I've tried wrapping each half in a dish towel and using my hands, using an adjustable wrench on the bottom end, and clamping it in a vice. I can't get any grip on the head. I tried dipping the base in boiling water, then the head in cold water, using the expansion and contraction of the metals, to no avail. Are there are tricks? Any suggestions please ?
Added later: Incidentally, by open I simply mean separate the head from the battery compartment in order to remove the battery.
Lovely light, but there is not enough grip on the control ring.
