Under $25, what would you recommend? ...

For a good thrower the Advanced Auto Parts 3 watt 2C for $20 is still a good deal. For $30 the Lowe's Task Force 2C, which used to be basically the same light, has been upgraded to a Cree LED and may be an even better deal.

AA Minimag with Nite-Ize LED drop-in, total cost is around $13 at Walmart. Haven't tried the 1-watt Nite-Ize drop-in, but that should give even more output for only another $5-6 or so.

If you have a Meijer store near you (some other stores might carry them as well) the Ray-O-Vac 3C Cree light is great for $24, although it has been on sale for $19 for the last few weeks.

I like this one for $13.50: bright, reliable, and efficient for me. This one is great if you like a weighty, luxury feeling light, and it's a steal at $20 plus change.

It takes patience to get these lights (3-4 weeks order to delivery), but IMHO, it pays off to make the wait...

You might want to take a look at this thread on budget lights. I think it will help you find something for $20 or less. Personally, for a 2-123A battery type light at $16 delivered, I honestly don't think you can beat the Romisen RC-F4. For a 2-AA type light, I think the Ultrafire WF-606A is a good buy for the money at $21 delivered. For a 1-AA type light, although I don't have it, the Ultrafire C3 Stainless Steel CREE LED Flashlight is getting rave reviews and is about $21 delivered. Its new and about $5 more than its non-stainless brother, but there is some added brightness to go with the cost.

In the AAA field, you can't beat the Streamlight Microstream and Stylus Pro. At $15, the Microstream is a delightful little flashlight that I have been EDCing for four months now. It's small enough to carry in the shirt pocket and forget about, get bright enough at 20 lumens to be a very usefull light. For a couple bucks more the 2 AAA Stylus Pro adds a little over an inch in length and a couple of hours of run-time to the 2 hrs of the Microstream. Either one would be a good choice. This_is_Nascar had a great review in the Reviews forum. Check it out.

The Dorcy CR123A 1 watt flashlight is a very good value. It sells for about $20 at Target stores in the USA.

It's a good value. Have one myself. The light looks more expensive than it is. It would easily fit in with business attire at a Fortune 500 company.

Only one drawback.... The tailcap switch is very soft. But since it's recessed, no worries about the light accidentally turning itself on.

I have a couple 2 AA Mini Mags with the 1-watt Nite-Ize drop-in and they work just as well as the actual 2 AA LED Mini Mag for less money.

You also get the slightly more compact size of the regular 2 AA Mini Mag compared to the actual 2 AA LED Mini Mag, which some may prefer.

:thumbsup:RC-F4!!!!!! This is a great light, in fact I have to say I have a few other 50 to 75 dollar lights that aren't as good as this light. I would order a coupla more, but since it takes awhile to get them I'll gonna hold out till there are a few other lights I want. Order one you won't regret it.

For a little work you can have an awsome light:

- Go to MarketPlace to order Cabelas combo for $19.99 + $4.95 shipping. Read carefully the thread to get that price.

- Go to DX and order 4090 drop-in for $10.14

- While waiting for 4090 to ship to you put the knife in that combo for sale at $12 - $14 shipped. You might want to keep the knife after seeing it, it's very nice.

So for $35.08, if you count shipping, you have a light + excellent drop-in + beautiful knife. The total will be less if you sell the knife and don't count shipping in it.

The Jetbeam C-LE is a great single AA light. Three levels and strobe and sos.

The Streamlight ProPoly 4 AA Lux is about $27 and is as rugged as any light in this price range, and also backed by a lifetime guarantee. It is bright, has very good throw and excellent battery efficiency.

+1 on the Dorcy Super 1 Watt recomendation.
