I mountain bike 2-3x per week at night. I use 3 of the "Night Eyes" style 1200lumen CREE XM-L lights 8.4v (1 flood, 1 spot on bars, 1 spot on helmet).
As a gift I received a Bright Eyes Stamina, and it is noticeably brighter (Ignorance is truly bliss, now I must improve my older lights). This was on the heels of me upgrading 3 battery packs to use re-purposed Samsung 18650 batteries from an old laptop (my runtimes more than doubled).
Has anyone purchased XM-L2 or XM-L3 LEDS and replaced the old XM-Ls? Would this increase my light output? Would I need to find/upgrade the drivers on the lights as well?
There seems to be a lot of results when I search for the terms I've used above. One thread shows the initial start, but failed to update on the results of their XM-L2 upgrade.
Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated!
