I am going to be looking at some real estate, and a UV light may be handy for spotting pet stains.

The Streamlight Twin Task comes in two versions; One has a choice of 3 or 6 390NM LEDs.The other version has 3 375NM and 3 390NM LEDs that you can switch between.

My question is, which light would be better at illuminating stains? Thanks.

Lower wavelength will be better because it will produce less visible purple light. Go for the 375. For the best effect, like one would see on CSI, it requires a higher powered UV lamp and goggles so don't expect to see a stain from across the room.
Be careful with the UV goes without needing much further discussion. ;)

Also keep in mind that a lot of carpet spot removers have phosphor based brighteners, a glowing spot does not necessarily mean pet stain. It could just mean someone spilled something and cleaned it up with spot remover. In fact these clean ups tend to glow brighter than an actual organic stain. A 365 nm light does work well except for the fact that they are not very high powered so your stain hunting will have to be in a darker room. A higher powered though longer wavelength light may reveal just as much simply through being higher powered and convenient to use as even in a well lit room stains will glow in the hotspot of my ultrafire 3w uv led.
