As the proud new owner of a Mag85, I'm curious...

Can you charge the 3aa batteries together inside the "D" adapter as one battery??? (in a vanson charger for instance)

Or must you take the aa's out of the adapter and INDIVIDUALLY charge them???

I know that some of the smart type chargers are used to charge something like that but not the specifics, someone that knows more than me about the specifics should answer.

If your charger is not a pack-capable charger, you have to remove them. The Vanson is not. It expects a D-sized cell to have 1.2V nominal voltage, whereas in the case of the Mag85, the D-sized cell is actually 3.6V. Wierd things could happen.

Pack chargers can detect how many cells are inside and compensate appropriately for the increased voltage. Usually these are the higher end, more specialized chargers. My Maha C777 is a pack capable charger and can charge 3 of the D adapters (9 cells inside) at one go /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
