The light that I received (V54 Modded Lumintop ToolVN, Black AL, Nichia 219C 5000K Neutral White; NIB, never used or carried.) does not seem to be functioning. Is there something I am missing about turning the light on?

Asking the obvious... 10440 battery, positive end towards head, both head and tail sections tight (but head not tooooo tight)?

I'm a bit of a flashlight newb, is the 10440 different than a AAA? I tried two different brand new Duracell AAA batteries. Both head and tail sections tight.

Good news is that no harm was done running a 1.2 or 1.5V AAA in the light. It just lacked juice to turn on.
But it does need the 3.7V 10440 Li-Ion battery. If you can't find any locally, look for Efest brand 10440s online at a reputable retailer.
Word of caution... don't accidentally put the 10440 once you get one in other flashlights you have that are designed for AAAs... you'll likely fry those lights!

I quickly found that the batteries are not available locally so I ordered some Efest at Mtn electronics. I really appreciate your help.
