Okay, if people want to do it, we can try to organize a quick night stroll somewhere. Dunno what the interest level will be like.
So, here is a quick recap of the past meetup. It was five of us: KuanR, Gadgetor, Bla2000, AvroArrow, and myself. We met up in a very dark, isolated parking lot, so, a perfect place to check out lights! The trees surrounding the lot were just far enough to give us a good grasp of throw, while not being too far. Overall, a nice venue. Also, an adventurous one.
It seems that a Avro and Bla may have witnessed a drug deal before the meet began. Probably not a good idea to shine your lights on that. Also, we were approached by a police officer wondering what the shift looking crew was doing in the dark lot. Luckily, he was a flashaholic too! He showed us his duty light, seemed like a 4 LED DX type light, running on one or two 18650s, and also a nice Scorpion HID he has in the trunk. Not bad, hopefully he will join us on the forums someday!
So, we spent a while checking out each others cool beams, then did a little stroll through the park. It was fun, but got pretty chilly after a while, so we headed back to the lot and went our separate ways. I do remember some nice highlights: KuanR's massive HID and his way cool floody quad XPG2 drop-ins. Also a nice thrower Mac. Avro had a nice Jetbeam PA40, nice light! Good stuff for 4AA. Gadgetor showed off his mad machining skills, great looking gear! Bla2000 was ever the dependable with his stash of nice small drakes/prevos etc...
It was fun, we'll be certain to do it again!
