I had previously run my vector POB for maybe 30 minutes or so, and recently installed a 12V accessory plug in the back of the handle to run accessories off the SLA and for easy charging, etc... Saturday I decided to use the 12v to 12V charging cord that came with my jumpstarter pack to try an extended run on the bulb to burn it in a little and explore the thermal envelope of the thing. I let it run for just over 5 hours with the POB resting level and corded up to the jump pack, 17+7= 24Ah. The battery on the jump pack was displaying 30% state of charge when I had enough and the POB wasn't any hotter than it was at about 30 minutes.
At shutdown the corona on the POB was noticibly whiter and most of the yellow and purple artifacts were gone. I'm quite pleased that the POB can run for extended durations with auxilliary battery power and hot have any aparrent heat issues.

This is the longest that I've heard of anyone running one non-stop. It's nice to know that it will do that if you ever need to run it for an extended time.

Thanks for sharing your results. :naughty:

Here's a couple pics, This particular power outlet I picked up from rat shack I don't know how long ago, I just tried searching the part #(270-1539A) on the site with no luck, there are probably other panel mount versions that would work. There's not a lot of depth available and this outlet fits perfectly. I lost the cover for it somewhere, so I need to scrounge something up.

I pulled the back cover and battery, then two screws and that triangular piece comes out. I used a holesaw on it and snapped the outlet in, I then had to punch another hole through where the triangular piece attaches to get into the main compartment. Once there I fished out the battery leads and bared a little on both and solder spliced the outlet leads in. I was careful to connect to the far side of the fuse in the red lead, so the outlet is now protected by the fuse in the light. I'm looking for a 10A breaker to replace the fuse, accidentally popping that in the woods without a backup light (mistake #1) would suck. With a self resetting thermal breaker in there you'd only have to wait a minute or two to be back in business.

This weekend might plug up the POB to the 75Ah C&D UPS battery you see it resting on there, it should run for ~20 hours.
