yes. coupled with that, if you use the head to hit someone or something, chances are you'll blow the bulb or at least knock the filament out of alignment. i don't think mag would be able to hold lessons on using maglites as clubs in self-defence, as the liability involved would be far too risky. if maglite fully acknowledges and encourages the use of maglites as weapons, chances are they'll be seeing some action in court the next time some kid brings a 6D mag to school and beats up someone with it.
i have also heard of the c cell mags being better self defence weapons, cos the barrel is much thinner and easier for those with smaller hands, and is less cumbersome. btw what is the 3D maglite of the C cell maglites? as in the most common and popular model due to a right balance of size, length, weight and light output?
do american LEOs still use mag chargers or 3D mags? those i see on "cops" seem to use only streamlights.
anyway regardless of what people may say about the maglites, i still think they're one of the most well engineered and reliable lights, and they can be used in any role, though my arc aaa is currently challenging that
