VIP - 1x123 vs. 2xAA

2xAA so that I can run it on high guilt free. Once the BBH's come out my guess is that the longer body for the AA's will be the obvious choice (running on high and balancing the size of that head).

Re: VIP - 1x123 vsxAA

I mostly use the AA body. Been using Ray-O-Vac 15 min charger batteries, and I just top off cells ever so often. They have the amperage to run the VIP on high, and will be great with the BBH. I will be ordering some of the CBP 1650's for the ultimate amperage. For discrete carry in public, I opt for the 123 body.

Re: VIP - 1x123 vsxAA

123 - regrettably the VIP isn't seeing much duty these days, so it sits ready with its "fuel and forget" 123 in case I need something more powerful than the 2x123 Ultra Power 3 that's been on my belt lately ($30 and potentially replaceable, unlike the VIP).

I have a ready supply of charged AAs in my backpack for my digital camera - where the VIP sits - so it wouldn't be a problem to carry the AA body as well...

Re: VIP - 1x123 vsxAA

I keep the VIP kit (Everything but a BBH) in the Avalanche with the AA body and spare AA batteries along with two 123s. Even if I forget to keep the AAs charged it should still be ready to use. Keep a headband with it for hands free use if needed.
