First off, thanks to all for ideas and inspiration. I butchered a 7-year-old Marwi helmet light and plopped a Cree Q5 in (courtesy the folks at Cutter), and I like it a lot:
So now I'm greedy, and want to turn a bar-mount light into a three-LED setup using http://www.cutter.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=cut790, another of Cutter's kits.
Problem is, I just found out that CDD1209 driver is 23mm diameter by 15mm depth, and I don't believe there to be space for that, the optics, the LED board, and even a rudimentary heatsink...
Is anyone aware of a driver that'll push 500-700mA, from a 12v source, across three 3W LEDs, while managing to be very small? I can probably just tack on a bit of copper foil to transfer heat directly to the housing from the LED PCB, but size really matters.
