Wouldn't it be interesting to see a shoot-out between the high-end HID bicycle lights like the L&M and the new generation of multiple emitter LED lights like the Lupine Betty (7 emitters), Dinotte 600L (3 emitters), CNCDelite etc.?

Anybody done one?

I have a Princeton Tec Switchback 3 but no HID to compare it to.

They made something like that on mtbr :candle: but without top-end led lights.
First bike 6m from light source, second 9m all lamps 130 cm above the gound.

From top left to right :

#1-Planet Bike Beamer 5
#2-Sigma Sport Evo 5 watt
#3-Sigma Sport Evo X 10 watt
#4-NiteRider SolMate
#5-Light & Motion Vega
#6-Light & Motion Stella - 180lm - (almost the same as Modded Sigma PowerLed on High).
#7-Topeak Moonshine HID
#8-Planet Bike Alias HID
#9-(Drum roll please) Light & Motion ARC Ultra

Yes -that was an excellent way to show what the beams look like.
We will try and reproduce the same setting for the min-T light -though you would really need the camera settings for a proper comparison.

I think he used an auto setting on the cam for those shots.

Cheers

Yes.. they did :(- I foud the oryginal post :
To take the picture, we use a Nikon Coolpix camera in the "Night" setting as to slow the shutter down enough to differentiate the light from the field as best we can.

So we have different times & white ballace etc. :shakehead
