Appologies if this is the wrong forum!

I am looking for a warm white bulb for an old 3 D Maglite running alkalines. I saw this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TTS-3WCR9...E-LED-Bulb-Upgrade-4-6-C-D-Cell-/270856126241

The dealer says it is actually specificed to go down to 3.5 volts and would be fine. I just wondered if anyone could comment on how fast the voltage of 3 alkaline D cells will drop to below 3.5 volts.

Any help/ comments greatfully received.

Roger

It seems to be warm white. Just make sure you get one that ends in W, which seems to be the indicator. Most of the ones he sells are cool white. Pretty neat product.

I have the 180 lumen cool version that I've got in a 3D Mag, so far so good.

Thanks for the comments and the photo. My main concern is that in warm white he does not have the 3-4.5 volt option, only the 4-9 volt and I just wonder how fast the voltage on 3 D alkalines will drop below its operating threshold?

problem is that the led will not be producing much light at all after first few minutes. Not really sure how long but I would think not much more than 10 - 15 mins. There is still a lot of energy in those cells to dump them than.

try this..

you would be happier with the right drop in and it will run down your batteries and not waste it.

this one item would work much much better for you. 270861197478

I see that you are more interested in warm white! But Not really sure you can find those. May just be better off looking for a prebuild Warm white LED light?

Just saying....
