Was there ever a Surefire A1?

Curious... ? Did Paul and his team ever prototype a 1-cell version? Maybe even behind closed doors that never made it to market?

SureFire developed a number of 'regulated' incandescent lamps but I don't recall there being any single-cell versions.
The A2 and it's MA02 was the only one that made it to production.
