EDIT: 5-16-09 I am adding an additional 10 units to this wavelet. Same info as below:
**5-17-09 SOLD OUT**
Hi guys,
This is an "experimental" wavelet of some Sapphire Mules which have the Nichia High CRI 1/2 watt 036 LED bonded to the window. These are a PITA to assemble with the procedure I have come up with to date and I am really not certain that these will be as useful to most of you as I believe the Sapphire with the 3 mm Nichia 310DS LED would be. However for a light limited to indoors or near field and when you want a wide field of relatively even illumination of good color rendering, this might be the ticket.
I will process the e-mail orders for these on a first received/ first processed basis and ideally the response to your e-mail order will be a notification of shipment. I don't want to add to the number of communications by sending an acknowledgment prior to generating the postage notification.
I have 10 of these available and no idea if I will do more or not. I will be quite curious as to the feed back from any of you who do elect to get one and of course if nobody goes for one, the answer is pretty clear!
These lights are available on first come first serve basis; as determined by e-mail orders I receive which are clear, concise and include the must have information:
In the subject line of the E-mail please state: Sapphire Mule
Your CPF name (if you have one)
Your real name and mailing address
phone number if international shipment
Any exceptions to standard shipping, which is priority mail.
If the shipment is domestic and you want insurance, please so state. (No insurance offered on international shipments)
For my general info on how I process these offerings, please refer to THIS THREAD. For more information on the Sapphire, please review THIS THREAD.
All of these lights sport some tool marks and various cosmetic singularities. Some may be obvious and some you may need to look closely for. In addition, the Sapphire Mule has clear Norland 61 bonding the LED to the window as well as used as potting material around and behind the LED. I first bonded the LED to the window and later added more of the Norland as potting compound. There are some bubbles and evidence of this in the lights and it might represent a cosmetic issue to some of you. There was one particular one that looked quite funky but that one is mine now.
If you receive one of these lights and decide that it does not meet your expectation then you can either lower your expectations or simply send the light back for a full refund. I won't offer an exchange for probably obvious reasons. (please don't abuse this offer)
Like all of my Ti lights, the Sapphire Mule is designed to be sealed from the environment and external pressure but I make no claim or suggestion that it is a dive or underwater light.
Sapphire - $165 plus shipping*
* shipping is via Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation or Global Priority mail. If you wish shipping via an alternative method, or signature confirmation or insurance on domestic shipments only, please specify in your e-mail order.
Thanks guys!
