Like the heading says, I'm a welder who's sick of using crappy pen lights that just crap out on you.

I weld pipe so I need something that will be able to shine through a small gap in the pipe to see into te inside.
other requirements are
-needs to be durable, I drop things a lot
- needs removable clear lense. I make new ones out of clear plastic fade shields from work. stock ones get burnt up.
-needs AA or AAA batteries
-fit in my pocket

That's pretty much it guys any advice and help is
geatly appreciated.

I'd vote for a Malkoff MDC AA or Quark (various emitter/UI choices)

From one welder to another, I will say the Fenix e12 makes an excellent light for help with welding. I used mine just the other day for doing some overhead stick work so I could make sure I got all the slag out of the corners in between passes. You cant remove the lens as far as I know, but it fits your other criteria just fine. And it takes a single AA. The Fenix LD12 would also be a great choice, also single AA.
