These are Avg. specs of normal running bulbs:
- - - - Volt - Amp. - Watt

P60 - - 5V - 1.2A - 6W
P61 - 4.4V - 2.4A - 10.5W
P90 - 7.5V - 1.2A - 9W

P91 - 6.6V - 2.4A - 16W
Obviously higher wattage bulbs produce more heat.
Remember part of heat should escape from bezel out but if flashlight is faced down on table or floor or in your pocket/bag, heat will trap behind the bezel and cause over heated lens.
Plastic lenses can't take that heat and deformed but glass lenses work better.

Interestingly I've just learned that in 9P, even P90 can cause that effect - although not that extensive. Careful with hot bulbs!
These plastic lenses are hard to replace, so they are only lit for short periods of time to avoid melting them.

Yea, which is kinda crappy because the xenon-halogen cycle needs a little time to activate. Under normal use I've not heard or seen of a P60 or R30 causing a melted lense, but the P90, P91, and P61 have this happen very often.

Well folks, we have a happy ending to this story. Micheax very generously sent me an elusive Z17 lens kit. Thanks so much! 😁

I'll pop this bad boy in when I get a chance and we'll be good to go.
