I'm dissapointed in my Brinkman Rebel LED Light.

I tried a slammin' fresh couple of Alkys (using a cobbed up system of my AE-1s meter to check brightness) and it was f16 @ 1000. Two Lithiums got me f22 @ 1000. Three Ns got the same f22. Three Ns and a 3v lithium button got just a tiny bit more.

Perhaps there is some regulation circuit in there?

I guess I could live with it if it had a switch up near the head. Holding it like I would the LX and getting that feeble blue tinted light just ain't the same.

Would I have a chance of REALLY being happy if I bought a Ledcorp Premium 3 cell LED replacement and putting it in something 3D powered? Will it really be white?

It's a heck of a chunk of change for experimenting....

Do you have an Opalec yet?

I liked the Brinkmann until I got some real lights. Arc AAA coems to mind. Other day I took it off my shelf and it felt extremely cheap and lightweight compared to the LX that I sometimes carry.

As for the blue tint--that almost made the Brinkmann my first and last LED torch

I think the fact that it's likely a cheap LED combined with the lens that effictivly focuses the cornia (The bluest part of the beam) into a spot is just asking for trouble.

Try again, you'll be glad you did

Maybe an Arc AAA to replace that Solitare?

"News of that got me a pretty icey stare..."

The whole story is just too damn complicated and boring.

Short answer. We are SMALL business. EVERY penny means SOMETHING. Usually I can have what I want. Right now, I'm in warm water for a $23.55 online purchase. If our customers would just get with the program and pay like the are supossed to.....

I'm going to put my tail between my legs and go to bed now.

Joe, check out the LED museum's review of the LEDCorp Pro Series LS based bulb. Very nice indeed. They are designed for Mag-Lites in particular, but are for any metal focusing light that uses a flange base bulb (PR series).

I was impressed enough to order one in 2 cell White (special procedure and inquire availability first). The bulb must be matched to the number of cells. Pro Series are normally available in White for 3 or 4 cells only. 2 cell Whites are rare, as LEDCorp has high standards.
