Went SF happy this week :)

I bought a SF U2 on Thursday, my first one! Great.

Last night I was able to purchase another U2! Even better! I have heard so many good things about them. Now should I do a Milkyspit mod to 500 lumens on the 2nd one?

Then, this morning 10 hours later I woke up extra early 5:30am EST and found a SF Titan for sale. Score, I bought that also. Do these lights have any issues I should know about? I did a search back 100 days and didnt find much.

I am a happy camper!

I have tried to PM Milky this week with no response, I assume he is very busy. Anyone know of a different method of contact?

Anyone know price of the mod to the U2 that has done it already?

Scott, in the posts by Milky where he lists his email address, he does so as an image. I'm sure this is to keep spammers from scanning the forums and picking up new email addresses. You might want to remove it and just PM it to HCD.

HCD - that is quite a shopping spree. I think a nice way to finish it up would be to send it along to Milky and have him add 4 rebels to it, and then post some pictures when you get a chance.

If i'm right sure someone will correct me soon if i'm wrong but rebels are a different style LED having a better color to them then your normal led or cree. It has a more incandescent look.

It is a new(ish) LED made by Lumileds - http://www.lumileds.com/products/line.cfm?lineId=19

It is the LED that Milky uses in his mod of the U2, because they are smaller than other high powered LEDs and perform nearly as well. The color rendition is also supposed to be very nice.

I got in touch with Scott and we spoke on the phone. I just told him I want the mod to the U2 that produces 500 lumens. I have no clue what LED he uses, he told me the price and I told him I will send it off this week. So does he use the new Rebel LED's? Has anyone here done the mod, how is it, what is the runtime on the highest level output? What batteries do you run? Does the head inside look different? Any pics anyone?

Milky talks about it briefly here (post #57), and has a few pictures too. I believe that he uses four Rebel 100 LEDs, and doesn't mess with the circuit, so the batteries/runtime are the same, but the output is much higher.

I got to play with a Milky modded U2 and wow is it a great light. He does a great job. The beam is beautiful and really bright. I doubt you'll be dissapointed.

+1 on the milky mod, I think you will or already have found yourself addicted to buying and using SF lights. Believe me, your wallet will be thin and your bank account will be drained sooner or later. In the mean time maybe you should get a Kroma.
